About Us

Defending the Faith Ministries & Conference is a conservative evangelical, Bible-believing ministry operated by Mount Carmel Revival Ministries.  We seek to be a servant ministry - equipping Christians to share the gospel with others; dynamically preaching, teaching and explaining the whole Bible; and meeting the needs of people throughout the world.  We recognise that 'defending the faith' plays a centrally important part in the life of every Christian.  Jude v 3 tells us to 'earnestly contend for the faith' and 1st Peter 3:15 insists that we should be 'ready always to give an answer to every man' - we help Christians to do just that.

Leadership

 

We are led by Evangelist & Bible Teacher Nigel Owens.  Nigel became a born-again Christian after hearing Evangelist Sammy Workman preach at a countryside gospel campaign.  Little did he know that night that his life would never be the same again.  For some years now, he has known the call and anointing of God upon his life.  Within the last ten years, by God's grace, he has seen 2 local churches planted and 1 Bible Institute raised up.  Please click here to visit his blog and here to visit the Mount Carmel Pulpit Series where you can listen to Nigel's latest sermons. 

 

Nigel's wife, Mrs Gail Owens, is a gifted Bible Teacher and Evangelist who spent years in various cults before becoming a Christian.  Gail has lived through many times of great hardship and personal suffering - proving God and the promises of Scripture at every turn.  She coordinates 'Reaching the Mormons for Christ' and the highly acclaimed 'Women of Excellence Ministries'.  Please click here to visit her blog.

What We Believe

The Trinity - one God existing eternally in three distinct but equal persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 

The virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious atoning death, deity, bodily resurrection, ascension and second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

Christ is the only way to Heaven.  Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone.  The bad news is that everyone is a sinner - and therefore deserve to go to Hell.  The good news is that Christ took away sin, therefore (on that basis and that basis alone) we can go to Heaven. 

The Holy Spirit shows people their sin and need of Christ.  When someone becomes a Christian, the Holy Spirit indwells them and helps them live for God. 

The Bible is the perfect, divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, perfectly preserved word of God.  It is our sole and supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.  The King James Bible is God's holy, preserved Word in the English language.

Heaven is where those who are Christians will enjoy eternal, conscious bliss after they die.  Hell is where those who are not Christians will suffer eternal, conscious torment after they die. 

 

Out of loyalty to Christ and His gospel, we have no links whatsoever with false ecumenism, charismaticism or the 'word of faith' movement. 

 

In theology, doctrine and practice, Mount Carmel Revival Ministries is a conservative evangelical, independent, fundamental, Bible-believing and Baptist.  We have a strong emphasis on evangelistic soul-winning and missionary work.  We believe in the importance of membership, Biblical Seperatism and standing for the King James Bible. We are a caring, friendly ministry that believes in speaking the truth in love (see Ephesians 4:15).
